Ceramic Jerry Cans

Fresh from biscuit firing.....to high fire with or without glaze?

Out of the kiln with the addition of some old chain, looks at home in both the kitchen and the workshop.

Work on display.

Managed to get some old work up on display finally.

a bit of fun..

Fresh Work

New work in progress, planning a series of fuel can type vessels, all the usual signatures of industrial and patina. Stencils and corrosion  already added.

Second Firing

Success!! Perfect firing, all wares successful.
copper glaze
 transparent blue/green
oil spot iron
 Lichen blue/green

First Firing

Red hot kiln......impatience on my part....not enough time allowed so fell just short of 1260c.
So although they still look interesting the glazes have not matured, better than melting all over the kilns!! This kiln is the sitter type, and is good for bisc firing and i am sure with patience is good also for earthen ware.

So now its time to trial and test the front loader complete with digital programmer and thermostats.

Tin Can Pottery

Planning a new collection of coffee cups so trialed several handles.
Got busy on the wheel.
New little makers mark...BE

My first real collection of cups.

I loaded up the smaller top loader kiln that i have, good for bisc, but unsure about Stoneware.

Nissen Hut Pottery Studio

A series of photographs showing the rebuild and development of both a WW2 era Nissen Hut and my Tin Can Pottery Studio.
